Cancellation, Consultation & Prescription-Only

Medicine (POM) Policy

As a nurse-led aesthetic clinic, we practise in accordance with Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) standards, prioritising patient safety, informed consent, and ethical practice at all times.

Deposits & Cancellations

A £30 deposit is required to secure all appointments.

We kindly request a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. The deposit is non-refundable and will be forfeited in the event of:

• Cancellations or rescheduling with less than 48 hours’ notice

• Failure to attend the appointment (no-show)

Appointments cancelled with more than 48 hours’ notice may have the deposit transferred to a future appointment.

Consultations & Medical Assessment

All clients must undergo a face-to-face consultation and medical assessment prior to treatment. This includes a full medical history, risk assessment, and discussion of treatment suitability, risks, benefits, and aftercare, in line with NMC guidance on informed consent.

If treatment is deemed clinically inappropriate or unsafe due to medical contraindications identified during consultation, treatment will not proceed. In these circumstances, the deposit may be transferred to an alternative treatment or future appointment, at the discretion of the nurse prescriber.

Prescription-Only Medicines (POMs)

For treatments involving Prescription-Only Medicines (including but not limited to botulinum toxin), a consultation with the nurse prescriber is legally required prior to prescribing and administration.

POMs will only be prescribed following a full clinical assessment and where treatment is deemed appropriate. Prescriptions cannot be issued without consultation, and treatment cannot be guaranteed.

Cooling-Off Period

In line with best practice and regulatory guidance, a cooling-off period may be required between consultation and treatment for POM-based procedures. This may mean treatment cannot be carried out on the same day. The deposit will remain valid and can be used toward the future treatment appointment.

Thank you for your understanding and for supporting safe, ethical, nurse-led aesthetic care.
